Job Description

Performs daily operational tasks as per standard operating procedures i.e. setting up of buffets and kitchen areas.
Ensures that product knowledge of all food items served is attained so that customers receive accurate information about the various food items served during service.
Provides operational updates and communicates daily instances to the Chef De Partie.
Liaises with other internal departments particularly Food and Beverage unit to ensure that both departments remain updated with current trends.
Works collectively and amicably with various team members to ensure a positive team environment.
Ensure that visual appearance of the kitchen area is maintained at all times by reporting faulty equipment, furniture or items.
Assist in the preparation of certain food items as directed by the Demi Chef De Partie.
Ensure that all kitchen stocks are utilized on the basis of first-in, first-out, (FIFO) ensuring that the oldest stock items recorded as utilized first so that items do not expire and only the freshest stock is utilized.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Minimum 2 years of job- related experience
Ability to foster teamwork among team members
Be aware of employee training needs and qualifications
Self-assess and self-recommend to the Demi Chef De Partie for any training needs that may be a requirement.
