Find Out the Date of the First Day of Ramadan in Qatar

The Qatar Calendar House, in collaboration with Kuwait’s Al-Ajari Scientific Center, has announced that the first day of Ramadan for the year 1446 AH is expected to be Saturday, March 1, 2025, based on precise astronomical calculations.

According to their joint statement, the crescent moon for this year will be born on Friday, February 28, at 3:45 AM Doha and Kuwait time (12:45 AM Universal Time).

However, it’s important to note that the official declaration of the start of Ramadan remains the responsibility of the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

Engineer Faisal Al-Ansari, Executive Director of the Qatar Calendar House, stated that it may be possible to observe the Ramadan crescent moon on the evening of February 28 in the skies of Qatar or Kuwait.

This is because the crescent moon is expected to set 32 minutes after sunset on the day of sighting, potentially allowing for visual confirmation.

While these astronomical calculations provide a scientific basis for determining the start of Ramadan, the final decision will be made by the official religious authorities.
