Flight 1006, originally en route from Colorado Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth, was diverted to Denver after the crew reported engine vibrations. The aircraft, carrying 172 passengers and six crew members, landed safely at approximately 5:15 p.m. local time.
As the plane taxied to gate C38, flames erupted from one of its engines. Dramatic footage shared on social media captured passengers evacuating onto the wing amidst billowing smoke. Emergency slides were deployed to facilitate a swift exit.
Airport officials confirmed that the fire was quickly extinguished. While most passengers were unharmed, American Airlines reported that six individuals were taken to a hospital for further assessment.
