In a safety advisory shared on social media, Abu Dhabi Police announced that the maximum speed limit on roads during foggy conditions is now capped at 80 km/h.
They emphasized the importance of following electronic information boards and exercising extra care while driving.
The NCM issued a weather alert indicating that visibility could further decline in coastal and internal areas until 9 AM on January 13, 2026.
Fog has been reported in various locations, including Arjan, Al Hamra in the Al Dhafrah region, and areas like Habshan, Liwa, and Asab in Abu Dhabi.
In addition to the fog, the UAE is experiencing cooler-than-usual weather, with temperatures expected to range from 22 to 27°C during the day.
Coastal regions, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, are seeing average temperatures between 23 and 25°C, while mountainous areas are notably cooler.
A temperature drop of up to 9°C is forecasted due to the influence of cooler air, with heightened humidity levels expected to linger—between 70 to 90 percent in internal areas and 55 to 70 percent in mountainous regions.
This will further increase the likelihood of fog or mist formation, particularly during the morning and nighttime hours.
Looking ahead, the NCM predicts changing weather conditions over the coming days, including falling temperatures, periods of fog, and stronger winds.
Residents are advised to remain alert, particularly during early morning hours and later in the week when rough seas and strong winds may disrupt travel and marine activities.
