UAE Issues Warning Against Fake Videos Misattributed to the Country

The UAE Public Prosecution has issued a warning regarding misleading and unlawful content circulating on social media, particularly concerning videos that are falsely attributed to the country.
Khalid Al Madhani, the Attorney General for Combating Rumors and Cyber Crimes, confirmed that several pieces of content have been identified that spread inaccurate or deceptive information.

In light of these developments, Al Madhani emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing it online.
He urged residents to rely on official sources to ensure the accuracy of the information they disseminate. “Information is a responsibility, and spreading rumors is a crime,” he stated.
The Public Prosecution highlighted that the current environment, characterized by the rapid spread of misleading content, necessitates a vigilant approach to media consumption.
Residents are advised to avoid publishing or circulating unverified claims, particularly those that contradict official announcements.
Al Madhani also warned against the fabrication of videos or the addition of misleading audio effects, highlighting the potential risks to the country’s security and stability.
